Are You a Manufacturing 4.0 Leader? Make Your Case by Entering the 2017 Manufacturing Leadership Awards

Is your company a leader or an also-ran in the race to Manufacturing 4.0?

One way to answer that question is to benchmark against a few competitors to determine if your latest digitally-enabled project or process is world class or just table stakes. That can be time-consuming and expensive, however.

Another great way to answer that question is to nominate your breakthrough project or individual leader’s achievements for a Manufacturing Leadership Award. Nominations are entered into 14 different categories—from Operational Excellence Leadership to Smart Product Leadership—where they are compared and evaluated by a panel of expert judges. Projects, companies, and individuals receiving the highest scores from the judges will be honored as Manufacturing Leadership Awards winners for 2017.

So what’s the big deal about winning a Manufacturing Leadership Award? There are several very real benefits. The first is the opportunity to get valuable feedback from unbiased manufacturing industry experts about the relative competitive value and innovation represented by the transformational projects into which your company has chosen to invest. That insight can be a signal to your senior executives and investors that you’re doing something right.

Another very real benefit of winning a Manufacturing Leadership Award is that it confirms to your team members that they are part of something important and that the outside world is noticing. It’s particularly important to convey that kind of message to Millennials who are often motivated more by making a difference than making a huge paycheck.

And, finally, winning a Manufacturing Leadership Award sends a message to customers and suppliers that your enterprise has  a strong future in the Manufacturing 4.0 era. That’s an important message to send at this pivotal moment when the rapid emergence of smart products, brilliant factories, rising customer expectations, and digitally-enabled new business models will reorder competition very soon in many industries.

Here’s how one top 2016 ML Awards winner put it. “In a highly competitive market, the Manufacturing Leadership Awards, from Frost & Sullivan, allows us to stand out to our customers and partners, demonstrating our commitment to excellence,” said Brad Martin, chief operating officer at Senet, Inc.

Oh, yes, there’s one more benefit: It feels really good to win something, and it’s fun to celebrate with your family as well as team members at the annual Manufacturing Leadership Awards Gala which will take place this June. Next year  will be the 13th year of the ML Awards and the Manufacturing Leadership Awards Gala. We hope to see you there for all the right reasons.
